Opportunities for Giving
The Penn State Annual Fund
Annual Fund gifts provide alumni and friends of the campus with an opportunity to support campus initiatives which might not otherwise be possible. Funds received support scholarships, facility improvements, and provide resources for our four baccalaureate programs in Applied Psychology, Business, Corporate Communications, and Instructional Sciences and Technology.
Programming support for the Brodhead Cultural Series, travel and equipment support for our expanding athletic teams, and Speaker Series honoraria, round out our current annual support initiatives.
Endowment
Endowed gifts are held by the University in perpetuity. The initial gift is invested, and a portion (typically about 5%) of the fund's market value is awarded annually for the purpose designated by the benefactor. Thus, the benefactor who makes an endowment gift today can feel confident it will continue to support its intended purpose far into the future.
Penn State Beaver currently seeks to build its endowment to ensure our students receive a Penn State education at an affordable price.
- $50,000 pledged over five years would be matched 100% by the University as part of the Trustee Matching Scholarship Program until June 2007. Annual gifts from the endowment would be up to $5,000 annually.
- $5,000 pledged over five years would establish a named scholarship with specific guidelines. This would enable us to award $1,000 scholarships.
- $2,500 would provide uniforms, travel, and related expenses for our athletic teams. It would also provide support for scholarships.
- $1,000 would provide an upgrade to lab equipment and software.
- $500 would support book scholarships for students in need.
- $100 would purchase a brick to be installed in the Nittany Lion Sculpture Garden in summer 2004. (Three lines of personalized text.)
- Gifts up to $100 collectively provide scholarships and other support to our students. All gifts help students in need.
