Current Students

Since 1861 Penn State students have left a mark on campus by contributing to many current initiatives. Thon, the Senior Class Gift, and Student Philanthropy Council just a few of the ways students contribute to Penn State.

The Student Philanthropy Council

• This year, Penn State is launching a new effort to raise awareness about the impact of private giving on student experience.
• The Student Philanthropy Council gives students a close-up look at the fundraising operation at Penn State, along with the opportunity to be involved in marketing and campaigns aimed at raising awareness about the role philanthropy plays at our University.

The Senior Class Gift/Class Gift Program

• The Class of 1861 gave a portrait of Evan Pugh that still hangs in Old Main.
• The gift of the Class of 1940, the Lion Shrine, went on to become a classic Penn State symbol.
• Most recently, the Class of 2005 decided to commemorate the University's sesquicentennial with a design element that will be part of the HUB-Robeson Center lawn reconstruction.
